Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Local Heroes

We are delighted to say that three local athletes have taken part in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics this year - a very proud moment for Northallerton and the local area.

Marc Scott competed in the 5000m and the 10,000m track event on 30th July with the whole of Northallerton behind him.

Scott Lincoln competed in the shot put event on 3rd and 5th August - one of the toughest events in the Olympics.

Laurence Whiteley competed for a second time in the Paralympics, after bringing home a gold medal in Rio 2016. Laurence defended his title on 29th August, taking home yet another Gold Medal, with partner Lauren Rowles.

We would like to say congratulations to our local Olympians, from the whole team at Barkers.
